Thick skin.

Such is scarce in the modern world.

"A nation is born stoic and dies epicurean"

Lets elaborate:

Stoic & epicurean are both schools of thought or philosophy with convey contrary believes.

Stoic philosophy: You must forgo present pleasure for hopes of something better.

Epicurean philosophy: Humans should live for now for tomorrow you die.

Obviously both have value.

Proper living should consist of both.

But with that, you must also know the truth of how reality works.

For every option, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Forgoing today for a better tomorrow.

Vs. living for today at the expense of tomorrow.

The perfect example of this is alcohol.

You sacrifice tomorrow for a better today, a better NOW.

But you pay for it tomorrow.

Such is life.

Such is your dream, your goals, your aspirations, your legacy.

"If you don't sacrifice for your dreams your dreams become your sacrifice"

You need to be tougher to get what you want.

It's how nations are born.

It's how dreams are made a reality.

You pay the price on both sides of the coin.

I know which side I'm going to be on.
