Seeing through our own paradigms creates a barrier.
A barrier grouch which we filter the world.
We only interpret the world through our small and unique experiences in the world.
We convince ourselves that we know, and seek to push those understandings on others.
This prevents us from understanding because we want to be understood.
How often do we listen in a conversation with the intent to simply reply, while keeping our agenda at the forefront?
The true marque is a successful leader is the capacity to listen and understand before asking to be understood.
The difference lies in a simple choice...
...The simple willingness to actually listen and understand the other.
To put aside our needs and really listen with the intent to understand, appreciate, and affirm.
